That's some freaking dirnt.
Nov. 5th, 2005 02:29 amTonight was The Bravery at the House of Blues. The doors opened at 7:30, we got there around 6:30, not really wanting to have to get there early in order to get a spot up front. But when we arrived there was a very small line so we went to Virgin Megastore to look about some. Then we went back and got in line, it had gotten a bit longer. And get inside fairly quickly. And when we get in...we're second row...I liked it. Got there later...didn't have to sit on the ground and still managed to get up front. But Bravery fans, such as myself, are pretty damn lazy and not too stressed about getting up front and crushing people. So getting up there wasn't a large feet.
The opening bands were decent, much better then Skindred and Finch last night. Gah! But I can't remember the band's names because...they were long...and weird. Bands need simple and catchy names, damnit! So you can just shout it a couple times and people remember it. One band had two drummers and it was amusing. One would get up and wander off stage when he wasn't needed then he would come back and the two drummers would stare and smile at each other.
Michael has a Temper: The Bravery came on and the Etherial glow was right in front of us with his fertile mustache. :) The bassist had some beard action going which was majorly hot. We weren't on his side this time though. And Samuel (a.k.a. Michael) had his style toned down. Hair short and not all crazy, a normal suit jacket and only one belt. :( He disappointed the gay man in me who wanted to see how fabulous he was going to be.
The second or third song, when Mr. Singerman was taking off his guitar there were some problems...the man in the chicken costume and he couldn't get him unhooked from his guitar. The song was starting and he ran out with the guitar dragging behind him. He got untangled from the guitar but knocked that little thing..I have no idea what its name is...but the thing on his belt got knocked off and he got pissed and cursed into the microphone and slammed it on the ground before leaving the stage. Then the guitarist (a.k.a. The Etherial Glow) jumped at the chance to have the mic so he could start talking. He was so freaking pleased that he was talking to the crowd about the technical difficulty.
New Songs. Really?: Then the show got started again after Samuel and the Chicken Man sorted things out. The show was performed wonderfully, I do love these guys. But....they played two new songs. "Angelina" and "Oh, Glory" <-- or something like that. And dear fucking christ!!! They sucked!!! I was tempted to boo the "Oh, Glory" song. I did predict that these guys wouldn't last very long, but I like them. So I wish them luck and want them to do good. But after hearing these two songs...I'm not holding out a lot of hope for their Sophomore album. Unless they completely change these songs around. They weren't really dancy...or ........good. *sigh*
Michael's Temper Again: Oh! During "Fearless" there were some more tech problems with Sam and his Chicken Man. Something was wrong with his guitar. He stormed about a little pissed and then went to the side and changed guitars mid song and came back out. But it still wasn't working right. He kept going but the glares he shot to the side of the stage were deadly. Man in the Chicken Costume was going to feel the wrath of Franzie's Lover. At least the Etherial Light was happy. He was VERY pleased and adorable.
And I just find it slightly amusing but more strange than anything. That this band has a man in a Chicken Costume, I think there was a Bunny Costume, and a man dressed in a mix between a wrestler and an S&M outfit running across the stage.
But fun times. Katie didn't pass out and we got to rub our booties on each other. Tomorrow is a day off from concerts. Instead its work at Pizza Slut. And then back to concerts with CKY on Sunday. Yay!
