I watched some serious scifi today. Since I work on Friday nights and we recently got DVR for our cable, I taped the "Biggest Night In SciFi" on the scifi channel. So now I don't miss zee episodes! I just got around to watch them today. Even though I've seen the Atlantis episode already. its good stuff.
Did watch the Battlestar Galactica. So sweetness. And Adama kicks so much ass it ain't funny.
And because I just watched Citizen Joe and I want to know why the hell everything is so Jack/Daniel oriented. So if you watch SG-1 and have seen the ep...please...read.
I usually don't get so into shows where I dispute character ships or the what not. I try to enjoy what moves the show takes and see the relationships unfold however the show writers will them to.
But with Stargate I've noticed HUGE homoerotic tendacies between the Jack and Daniel characters. The way they interact just makes me wanna root for them. As though a show....let alone a science fiction show... will even go there. Except for the lovely Queer as Folk. But that show is NOT science fiction, is on Showtime, and is so openly about gay people.
So as I was watching Citizen Joe today, very funny episode by the way, I noticed a real lean toward this man love between Jack and Daniel. And wanted to know what these stargate people think who just might read my journal.
The analysis...This Joe character was seeing flashes through the eyes of Jack, correct? So as the events played out you'll notice that the majority involved Daniel. Well, the emotional ones did anyway. Death of Daniel, the guy loses it and starts crying. So that means Jack must have been that emotionally torn apart. Then when Daniel visited Jack. The utter joy. Even showed the return of Daniel...naked on the ground. But the big thing that bugged me about it was that none of these flashes were based on Sam. No life altering flashes that revolved around her. strange huh.
I don't know. The episode just hit me as being very Jack loves Daniel. Then it turns around and mentions Jack's feelings about Sam when Joe is in the SGC. SO...that just confused me. Though I do still like Jack/Sam. They are adorable together. I would so love for a show that doesn't revolve around gay people or relationships inparticular to move toward a homosexual relationship amongst its storylines though. And now I don't know why I even started this little rant. *sigh* I've grown too attached. I need to sever the Stargate line. hahahhaa....like that'll happen.
and now I have to study for a math test. because i need good grade.:) :) and then i have to go see my counselor person. I hate talking to school counselors. this guy is at least nice and doesn't put on that "i'm better then you" attitude.
