What a Beautiful Day.
Oct. 19th, 2006 01:31 amToday was Fantastisch!
Football Documentary: Chelsea vs. Barcelona: Katie is filming a documentary for one of her classes. She and another girl in her group fell in love with the idea of making the documentary on Football...and the way it becomes a great Equalizer within cultures and the way its effecting our Orlando area with all the Spanish immigrants and European Tourists, and how Americans haven't yet embraced the biggest sport in the world. I thought it was BRILLIANT!
So anyway...their first location was The Cricketer's Arms...a haven for British Tourists to get their Football fix while over here in the Disney Area. And of course, its a pub run by Chelsea fanatics...so when Katie got a hold of the owner to get permission to film there he insisted that the best time to come for the crowd would be the Champions League game Chelsea vs Barcelona, which was earlier today.
It was so much fun! Oh dear. There were about as many people there as were there during the World Cup Final...most in Chelsea Jerseys. There were about five people there for the Liverpool game...one braving everything to come in his Liverpool Jersey. Anyway, we got to talk to some really amazing people and got a British perspective on the game of football and how they feel about Americans not embracing the sport.
I had a wonderful time interviewing them and really didn't want to leave. Everybody was just so great...and once they started talking Football it wouldn't stop! hehe. We interviewed this family from London....well, a husband and wife with two little boys...all four in Chelsea Jerseys. The little boys were really hyper and running about...and the couple were so sweet. Taking the time to talk to us while their boys stomped around and slapped their faces. haha.
The woman asked before the interview if the boy could run up to the camera after the interview and scream "John Terry!" We said sure...but the little boy wouldn't do it..he got shy. And the dad tried to get the other boy to start chanting "Who are we?! Champions!" But both boys stared at the camera, smiled and turned away frightened. haha. So cute!
Oh so much fun. :) :)
Project Runway Finale!: PRIMA! I'm so happy that insane pregnant whale woman didn't win! Oh sheesh! And I'm really happy Jeffrey won. I was rooting for Michael...but his collection wasn't that strong...kind of disappointing. :( :( But Jeffrey's was very strong, and after that bitch of a pregnant beast called him out for cheating when he didn't...I was even more happy he won. I love that show.
And the new season of Top Chef has started. Ilan! I'm already in love with him.
