Can't let you go...
Jan. 19th, 2007 10:16 pmEverything is coming back to me...full force! Its that time again. That time where fandoms and bands revisit me to tell me just how much they've missed me...and also how awesome they themselves are.
Farscape: For some random reason this week I decided to watch Farscape and just had to watch "Into the Lion's Den" parts I & II. And of course I had to pretty much just start from the beginning of the series and begin watching all over again. hehe. I really think Farscape is a very under appreciated show. Most people couldn't see past the weird creatures to get a look at the EXTREMELY complex and interesting characters. Just because the guy has tentacles on his head doesn't mean he doesn't have a wonderfully written story. And the humor of the show is brilliant...the writing...the characters...I mean what other SHOW has villians that aren't just villians...they're characters. They have a story and reasons behind what they do. Sometimes they're out to stop the good guys, but sometimes they are there to help the good guys because it benefits their own skin. Its interesting how these characters come in and out and work together. The Crichton/Scorpius storyline...throughout the entire series...starting out as a cut and dry Good vs. Evil, then they learn more about one another...and at times have to rely on the other to survive. By the end of the series they still never like each other or trust each other, but they respect the hell out of each other and maybe even understand where the other is coming from. Its interesting.
I'm a fan of all kinds of SciFi shows but Farscape seems to be a cut above, in my opinion. Love it!
The National: And just today I went, as usual, the check The National's website for news on the their new album, which should be out in MAY! and realized I haven't listened to them in awhile.
In recent times with my favorite bands, because I get so crazy into them, I try to go some times without listening to them or I'm afraid I'll wear them out. Like...listen to the music a little too much and then I get sick of it in a way. Don't know if that makes sense. So anyway, I've managed that with The National...I've managed to keep that certain distance to over listening and find myself even more in love with their music over a year later. I'm happy about that.
I remembered a little bit ago on stumbling upon a few YouTube videos of The National playing two new songs. And I found them again and then had the urge hit me again. I HAD to listen to some National. And they've reminded me of their brilliance and I'm so glad I haven't over played them and lost interest in the over Nationalizing of my senses. :) :)

American Idol: Katie and I both watched the first coupe episodes of this season's American Idol...because we heard the audition shows are the best. And oh my GAWD!! Its hilarious. Now I understand a little bit on why this show is so huge! Its brilliant. and I understand now how they suck people in. Katie fell in love with one of the guys who made it through and now she wants to watch American Idol until he gets kicked off. hehe. So, now we're going to have to keep watching. bastards.
