Aug. 18th, 2007 03:26 pmI watched "The Prestige" last night.
I think my mind has been blown. haha Christopher Nolan is a bloody fantastic director...in my opinion.
Watching the movie...around half way through I'm just following along...yeah yeah yeah...the movie was good but predictable...at least I thought so. Until shit started going crazy! hehe. And maybe some people had figured it all out. It took me until the end was coming until I started to piece it all together. And I sat up straight on the couch and leaned forward in interest as the magic trick of a movie revealed itself.
Definitely a couple quibbles about the movie...well, a rewatching may sort the quibbles out...but yeah. Scarlett Johansson and everything involving her seemed to rush by...but then I think that was done on purpose to you wouldn't figure out her feelings and her intentions. I am interested by the film because there seems to be no set Good Guy. Both Jackman's and Bale's characters were driven to some pretty viscious things. I don't want to give away anything but though I understand why the ending went the way it did...I was disappointed by it.
Loved the hell out of the movie though!
Also saw "Zodiac" the other day with Ruth. Good film...The character's relationships in the film seemed entirely too rushed though. I never felt really connected with any character except maybe Ruffalo's...and Downey's character fades away like he never existed and maybe never had to for the movie to have been done. But I know nothing of the Zodiac killer and nothing of the people involved...so *shrug*. I enjoyed it though.
In other news. I found out I have Setanta Sports on my new cable package! That's cool. Now I have FSC, GOlTV, and Setanta ...so I think pretty much every channel in America that will be playing Soccer. teeeheeehee!!!
But the cable guy did set up my cable to play on a weird setting in my television...instead of the normal one...I don't know how to explain it...but its just weird.
