Oh...where to begin....

Today was a full day for me. woah. I'm tired.

First...woke up at freaking 8:30 in the morning! What for, you ask? Well, to go watch Arsenal play frustratingly mediocre against Everton. *le sigh* A tie...and Chelsea and Manchester United pull a tad bit further away. Though Manchester United today! Rooney with a hatrick! Woah...well done him! They played very well.

Anyway...after that disappointing start to the day, it only got better, which is good. I took a few minutes on my way home to stop in and try to cheer Katie up, who was stuck at work with Peter, which is never a good thing.

Then hurried home and took Nelson to the dog park for an hour or more. He was having a good ol' time and was being really cute. Then this guy comes over and starts talking to me. He was alright, not really my type...nice, but seemed like that usual college dude who just hits on all the girls. Well, anyway, we were talking and he invited me to a party tonight. But I could not attend because I was going to Minus The Bear concert with Katie. So I just gave him my number. Hey, might be able to have a little fun, is what I think to myself.

And its the first time in a LOOOOOOOONG time I've met someone kind of doing my own thing in life and not being pushed or introduced to a person.

But...Am I so glad I didn't go to that party and spent the entire night at the Minus The Bear concert. It wasn't the most memorable performances. The openers were instantly forgettable, sadly. And Minus The Bear were a little off. Their sound was amazing, but their performance was lacking a little energy. I think they were probably tired from touring...or just weren't feeling it. :(

While waiting in between bands though Katie and I go wandering about and near the entrance walks these two guys. I notice because one is wearing a Vespa shirt...don't know why, but it caught my attention, and he was pretty good looking. And the other was a tall lanky man with a beard and glasses. and had the lumberjack indie man outfit. But long story short...Katie and I end up in the same little area as them...by "accident" and then continue to kind of...well...stalk is a strong word. But we kept an eye on them. Hey, they didn't really go too far the entire night. I tried twice to start up a little something with them...Once by asking for the time. And then pointing Vespa man in the direction of his friend when he seemed lost. Both attempts failed. But I felt good...because I SUCK at this kind of stuff and usually never even work up the courage to say a goddamn word at all. And the show ends and Lumberjack is already outside, Vespa hightails it out of there. Katie and I see them walking down the sidewalk and begin speed walking to catch up.

I'm debating in my head whether I should try and get their attention and say anything. I ask Katie and she thinks it would come off too weird. Because I didn't know quite what to say. But they were heading in our direction toward the car garage, so I thought I had plenty of time to think. But NO! Lumberjack turns to the street and begins crossing. SHIT! is all I can think, another goddamn opportunity wasted! So, I freak out and just blurt out "Hey guys! Can I stop you for a second!"

And then they're stopped and turned around and I'm awkward and don't know what I'm doing. Freaking and just confused. But I get through it and ask Lumberjack if he wants to do something sometime, of course, appologizing for the awkwardness of the confrontation. He gets my number and Katie then talks to Vespa and gives Lumberjack her number because Vespa was not cool enough to have his own damn cell phone. haha. So anyway... SCORE! I did it. I faced my insecurities and lameness and actually freaking did it! *Pats self on back*

Two guys in one day. Socialization. Scary but fun. :)
