Shuttle Launch: I got to see the Space Shuttle Discovery in the air today. It was kind of beautiful. I was delivering pizzas and one of the customers says "Keep your eyes to the east, they gave the shuttle the go ahead. Its going up any minute."

I've never seen a Shuttle go up...especially at night, so I didn't think much of it because I didn't think I would see much of anything...but...on my next delivery, I get out of my car and look past my car to the sky and its a brilliantly bright orange where it was previous pitch black.

The clouds were visible like it was a sunset and then I see the shuttle. A huge bright orange flame and on top of it is flying the tiny speck that is the Space Shuttle Discovery. I stood there in the middle of the street just staring, transfixed. The shuttle got higher and the orange in the sky began to dim and then it was only the trailing orange flame that kept moving higher into the sky. and then it dimmed and then turned a brilliant white. Then little blue lines began to trail from the top of the shuttle. It was beautiful, that's all I can really say about it. Then a few moments later it went a fiery orange for a few seconds and then became a steady blip in the sky like a star or distant plane.

Guh. It was something amazing. I'm glad I saw it...It was just something that you don't get to see too often, especially since NASA doesn't launch many shuttles at night. Its one thing that makes Florida freaking fantastic!

I wish I could find a picture or video of it from the viewpoint of us here in Orlando...it was gorgeous. And it was far away, so to see it so well...that thing has to be so powerful...kind of intimidating and scary.

Gotta wake up early to go watch the CHELSEA vs ARSENAL game tomorrow. Go ARSE! Then come home and take Nelsito to the dog park. Then come home again and find something to do for the night. I'm going to take my dad's advice and go out and actually...do stuff sometimes. Meet people...hopefully...so then I might get some friends or aquaintences...and I won't be so.....lonely. *sigh*
